The Department of State (“the Department”) is reviewing the “Know Your Rights” information pamphlet, which the U.S. government created in 2009 pursuant to section 202 of the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008 (Pub. L. 110-457).  The Department is also reviewing the “Know Your Rights” information video created in response to section 1206 of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013 (Pub. L. 113-4).  The pamphlet and video provide information on the legal rights and resources available to foreign nationals seeking certain employment- or education-based nonimmigrant visas to the United States. The pamphlet and video can be found here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/temporary-workers.html.

Much of the content in the pamphlet and video is mandated in the law; however, the Department values feedback on the current pamphlet and video and is seeking recommendations for improvements from stakeholders in the revision process.

Please see our survey.  The survey is available in English, Spanish, Filipino Tagalog, and Hindi (see links below). The survey is voluntary and will assist the Department in improving the “Know Your Rights” informational pamphlet and video. For any critique or deficiency described, please provide a recommendation to remedy it. The Department will stop taking responses to this survey at 5:00 p.m. EDT on June 26, 2023.
